Finding My Inner Strength

Dear Moms,
Have you ever sat and thought about the things that you have been able to achieve? The goals you have met, the things you thought you would NEVER be able to do- but did?! They have recorded instances in which moms obtain almost superhuman strength when their children are in danger- like trapped under a piano, or a car or some junk. I mean, I personally never thought I would be able to survive a HUMAN BEING coming out of my va-jay-jay; but oddly enough I DID IT! TWICE! Lol I also NEVER believed that I would be able to successfully make it through a Cesarean Section...but I did that too- THREE TIMES to be exact! But, that's neither here nor there... I am thinking more along the lines of actual practices that you initially thought could not be done by you and then, lo and behold YOU DID IT?!
Isn't it the BEST feeling in the world? Don't you just SWELL with pride? Don't you feel like a freaking SUPER HERO?! I have been getting that surge during this last week because I am redoing my bathroom! I am doing mud work, for the walls- plastering and filling... I had done my kitchen about three years ago in the same manner, but that time I had a bit of help to pick up the slack in the areas I was unfamiliar. THIS TIME- I am doing the WHOLE job! I have been spreading mud and doing a DAMN good job!! I am exceptionally proud of the job I have been doing and have done! I mean, HONESTLY- I have been kicking ass and taking names in that bathroom! I have been making that MUD my bitch!!
But, in the interim I have been noticing that I am truly stronger than I thought I was. I have been able to rebound from a seriously awful breakup, and I am making my way into new adventures and avenues that have truly surprised me. I have been pulling myself out of a funk that I honestly never thought I would emerge from simply by trying things that I have never tried before. I have been able to draw strength from achieving things I would have never thought possible and I have been able to watch myself grow in ways that I would never have thought I would.
Personal growth should NEVER stop, we are capable of learning and growing well into our adult lives. Taking up challenges keeps our minds sharp, and allows us to feel competent into our golden years! Plus, being willing to try and learn new things is always a great way to be a role model for our children!! That's always a plus- especially with us being driven to day drinking due to homework, potty training, teething, sibling fights, the kids BREATHING... lol ok, maybe I'm the only one setting a poor example with MY day drinking! LOL Either way, you get my drift!
Until Next Time- try some new sh*t!!
