What Should We Play Today?

What Should We Play Today? Teaching Small Children the Art of Fair Play Dear Moms,  We are living in a new time. AI is globally taking over our technological lives and even threatening our jobs. Mass shootings are on the rise in the US, and women's body autonomy is at stake in the states as well. However, as we navigate our way through the congestion, one thing remains the same- being a mom. Moms have the task of taming our children's wilder natures and teaching them how to behave in society. Mainly, to avoid them becoming those who add to the already chaotic world we live in.  When it comes to teaching small children, ages 3-7 how to share, show compassion, and actively prevent future bullying, engaging in play is one of the most effective methods. Play is a natural way for children to learn and experiment with their environment, and it helps to encourage positive behavior and develop social skills. In order to teach children about sharing, cooperative play is one of t...

I know some of you Mamas are celebrating your little one's first Halloween and I began to go through the laundry list of mommy worries about this holiday of scares and candy... Why marketers should stop worrying and start loving big data Retrieved  https://datafloq.com/read/marketers-stop-worrying-start-loving-big-data/33 1 Where should we trick or treat? Dear Moms,  OMIGERD!! I have been swamped! Let me fill ya in: I am STILL in school full time, for my Graphic Arts Associates Degree.  I am getting the kids ready for a brand spanking new school year in an entirely new city AND state. I am getting my company: Essential Bath Elements off of the ground. I am working with the susband (soon to be husband) on both the ministry AND the cleaning company.  Oh- and did I forget to mention that I am MOVING?? AGAIN?!? Yeah, moving- once again. We have been in this house for a little under six months...but, the landlord was doing fraudulent things by renting it out during a foreclosure. Long story short, Fannie Mae purchased our home and then asked if we would like to continue renting, OR they offered us, "relocation assistance" to move. $$$$$ Cha-CHING! I was ready to pack while we were still on the phone with the broker! 👀 Am I alone?! Hands? Needless to say, I am scouting places for boxes and taking art...

What's the Deal with St. Patrick?!?

Dear Moms, Beware the Ides of March! Lol did I just give you a creepy azz high school literature flashback? Yes? You. Are. Truly. MY people!! No? Well, you are a much better adjusted human being than I. Because, every time I hear that sentence I think (in rapid succession, almost while hyperventilating): Shakespeare, Sophomore World Lit, DID I DO MY HOMEWORK?! 😱👀😲 Then, I snap out of it. Realize I have loooong since graduated high school, and my undergrad years. #WHEW Now that I have exposed yet another layer of my mental instability, let's get down to business! This week ushers in St. Patrick's Day! This is the date celebrating one of the patron saints of Ireland who ministered Christianity to the Emerald Isle in the fifth century, St. Patrick. Here's the download on St. Patrick. First, he wasn't even Irish. It's believed he was Scottish.  Even though the actual birth date and locale aren't certain, he was born around 375AD by way of Roman parents (liv...

It's Been TOO Long! Dear Moms, Hey, you gals! ( I say gals since this blog is geared to the mommies- but, if there are some fellas reading... HOWDY!) Anyway, I have been MISSING IN ACTION for quite a while. I have been working on a huge business deal, looking to move into a new rental until the deal is complete, working my eleven jobs, and dealing with the kids! Speaking of the kids, they are all in my bed currently snoring in their own individual ways. #MomLife Meanwhile, I was inspired to write today not only because of my long overdue absence...but because of a new adventure I have embarked upon. I am taking part in a 30 day Bravery Challenge! I am trying to spark some inspiration to become a braver me. I have been suffering from depression and anxiety for years and I have decided to take my life back! I am trying to get myself out of my comfort zone, and into a uncharted waters that may propel me into even greater success! So, the challenge- here's the deets: Every ...

OMG- We're EXPECTING!!   Dear Moms, I have recently been stricken with "BABY FEVER!" I have been inundated with all of these adorable little smooshy faces on my News Feed on Facebook, my twitter timeline, my Instagram feed, AND my Snapchat! Goodness gracious! So, I began to not only CRAVE another little ball of drool; but wonder HOW and WHEN you all knew that you were pregnant! I personally, experienced NOTHING in the way of symptoms of pregnancy. I just missed a menstrual cycle- took a test and BOOM! Well, with the first one. The second was much more interesting. I actually felt MOVEMENT before I realized I may have been expecting! I mean REALLY? Lol I was under the impression that you didn't ovulate while you are nursing...which by the way is a complete and total LIE! Anywhozit, I was nursing my first born and still actively having unprotected intercourse with my then SO. Well, one evening after a particularly amorous encounter I rolled over onto my stoma...

Learning Things About HOW to Deal with Your Kids Dear Moms, Do you ever feel like you have been tasked with the job of PARENT- and you aren't equipped?! Or do you have those days where you feel like I just SUCK at this whole mom gig- I could have been a stripper?! (Lol okay, maybe not the whole stripper part- but, hey you've at least thought of another profession you would have much better suited for?) I know I have- and hell, I have lived MONTHS of feeling that way; not just single days! Recently- with the kids being out of the house I have taken the time to do more research into the who, what, and why of myself and my kids. It really began with some weird astrology interest and I went deeper to learning about the intricacies of the zodiac signs... traits, habits, myths vs. truths. Once I had delved into that, I was hungry for more! I wanted to know how my sign (Taurus) related to my children's respective signs and how they clash, and or meld. For the most part my ...

Getting "Cooking" With the Littles Dear Moms,  Mother's Day is approaching and with that- we all know the familiar and often cliche doings of kids destroying the kitchen to prepare a "FEAST." Sometimes their knowledge is soggy Cap'n Crunch and burnt toast- but there are those adventurous souls that endeavor to use the stove! LOL Bless their hearts, and YIKES! I was once a phobic mommy that did NOT want anyone to go near the stove. Then, I gave my oldest a chance with pancakes. Seeing as that is my business, I knew she could add water to the mix and if I stood guard I could advise as needed...and, she DID it!! I was beyond proud, and super relieved- but, I had sparked something in her. Now, she desired to Guy Fieri EVERYTHING! She had monster sandwich ideas, recipes for marinades and she was ALWAYS watching the Cooking Channel and Food Network ! Needless to say, I had to get over that fear very quickly because she was motivated and passionate. Now,...

GUESS WHAT TIME IT IS??!! Dear Moms,  It's May!! It's Taurus season!! It's almost Mother's Day!! It's almost My BIRTHDAY!! lol okay, I think I got all my exclamations out... Oh, it's almost SUMMERTIME!! That means... (DUN, DUN, DUUUUN..) SUMMER VACATION!! (insert cool echo effect here) lol  So, what does that mean to YOU?! In my mind, it means sun, and tropical drinks, a hammock- maybe a cabana boy or three...but in reality:  In my house, it usually means hot sweaty kids, running in and out of the house, letting all the "cool" out; arguing over the last green Popsicle, water balloon fights, trips to the beach, the park, the splash pad etc, etc. This year, they have reservations at a local YMCA summer camp! Yay me! Now, let's not go crazy- I'm still a nutty, over protective mother- they are only going for a week but, it IS sleep-away soooo.... I have NO idea how ANY of us are going to take it! I have always thought camps are a gr...
