Omg, I'm super excited! Dear Moms, I am over the moon right now! I just got the email from www.everythinggirlslove.com that told me I was a new Lifestyle staff writer! This position gives me editorial credit for my blog postings. I will be featured on www.everythinggirlslove.com in the Modern Domestic  (yes, that is a link that will take you directly there!) section. This is truly a dream come true. I have been writing since I was a little girl. I have been creating stories and prose and poetry since I can remember. I used to dream about working for WGBH in Boston watching Channel 11 out of Chicago, Illinois. What up WTTW reference?! Lol I entered writing competitions throughout high school, and I went to college to become a journalist. Two degrees, and four kids later...my writing became a hobby, and a way to entertain the 'Littles.' Now that they are all in school, my writing has grown into a way to cope with the story of my life, as well as a monetary sou...

What is your worst parenting habit? Dear Moms, OMG, today has been one of those days! (Meaning I was stuck in conference calls all day and limited on what I could do holding a phone...oh, and did I fail to mention this is a post for YESTERDAY?!) Anyway, today (yesterday) was one of those days that truly epitomized why MOM juice aka wine is so very valuable! It was also a day that brought about what I term to the children as, "mommy's spicy language"... You know, the swears! ?*%@! Now, I have been known to suffer from a few parenting vices. I often times overcompensate and over indulge my children because I'm single as a parent. I don't regret that, I play the role of two parents thusly; my giving is that of two parents. I believe my biggest vice as a parent is yelling! I used to not be a yeller. That is until I had more than one child- literally. I've noticed that once you have more adults than children in a household, you've got a problem! L...

What Does Being A MOM Mean To You?! Dear Moms, I had just finished my clean, organize, and stress exercises... Lol, you know you've done them before! You probably just got done doing some! Anyway a thought occurred to me, "Why am I ALWAYS doing this same stuff?!" Then the answer resonated like a gong in my head, "Duh, stupid- you're the MOM!" But, what does that mean?  In my house it means I'm the person no one seemingly EVER hears until she's speaking of contraband, C-A-N-D-Y and the like. Oh, but they DO hear me when I scream and rant like a LUNATIC- gives me short lived listening at times, but listening nonetheless! Oh yeah, and I'm the cook, maid, seamstress, personal shopper, therapist, mediator, nurse, laundress, disciplinarian, and tutor. Being newly single again I am also the handyman, plumber, spider killer, mechanic and coach!  That's not ALL I am responsible for I'm sure, but I began to think- is that ...

Ten of the YUMMIEST Guys on Screen Right Now and WHY I Love Them! Dear Moms,  There are a lot of tasty gentleman on the small screen these days. Some of them aren't even your typical idea of a leading man- mute, nerdy, balding, but these guys are at the top of my YUMMY TV favorites! 10. Otto Goodwin, played by Adair Kalyan, on FOX TV's break out hit, Second Chance . (Friday @ 9est/8cst) First of all he's a computer genius and an all-around genius! He loves his twin sister and heavily relies on her to communicate with the world after his self-imposed silence after the death of their parents. He struggles with his emotional burden of their death by helping genetically engineer his sister's health. AND he helps solve crimes in the city of Seattle! I can't speak for anyone else but, this little nerd has won a place in my heart! 9. Phillip "Lip" Gallagher, played by Jeremy Allen White. on Showtime's running series SHAMELESS . (Sunday...

Spa Stay-cation!  Dear Moms, I know being a Mommy is hard work. Like for realsies back breaking, emotionally draining, sometimes soul crushing WORK! YES- I SAID IT! (It's high time someone stop sugar coating this whole parenting gig and admit the real deal!) Lol Anyway, with the "Stay-cation" becoming the new norm for many of us with kids; a thought occured to me. Why can't I take a SOLO SPA Stay-cation?! Ask a silly question, get a silly answer because I COULD and let me tell you  - I DID and continue to DO so! You too can take a break and, I'm going to give you some ways to luxuriate at home. Most of these items are probably in your kitchen or medicine cabinet right now; but if not they can be picked up right around the corner I'm sure! Papaya Facial- This mask is super, duper easy to make and can help reduce wrinkles! Which will in turn allow you to look relaxed and unstressed-- even though the hamster is in the vacuum, and you're twent...

Top 5 Ways to Beat the A.M. Animosity A Mom - to- Mom Journal Dear Moms, We have all been there, it's 7:40 a.m. and the everyone has to be somewhere by 9 a.m. THAT means we have to be leaving in 20 minutes! It's been my experience that in OUR house the only way to deal with these mornings was to scream and swear like a hybrid crazy lady/sailor & hope to God we all had what we needed for the day! Luckily, mornings like this are a thing of the past in our house. You can be saying the same thing if you follow these handy tips: 5. MAKE A PLAN! - It is said that when you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Figure out what the schedule is to be for the week. Or plan it out day by day the night before. It helps if you verbalize the plan aloud so, within the last hour before bedtime try talking with your spouse/ significant other or even the kids and let everyone know what's expected of them for the next day. 4. Look into the Future! - No this doesn’t mean you ...
