What Does Being A MOM Mean To You?!
Dear Moms,
I had just finished my clean, organize, and stress exercises... Lol, you know you've done them before! You probably just got done doing some! Anyway a thought occurred to me, "Why am I ALWAYS doing this same stuff?!" Then the answer resonated like a gong in my head, "Duh, stupid- you're the MOM!" But, what does that mean?
In my house it means I'm the person no one seemingly EVER hears until she's speaking of contraband, C-A-N-D-Y and the like. Oh, but they DO hear me when I scream and rant like a LUNATIC- gives me short lived listening at times, but listening nonetheless! Oh yeah, and I'm the cook, maid, seamstress, personal shopper, therapist, mediator, nurse, laundress, disciplinarian, and tutor. Being newly single again I am also the handyman, plumber, spider killer, mechanic and coach!
That's not ALL I am responsible for I'm sure, but I began to think- is that all I see my role as a mom as? Servitude?! Yes. Lol and no. I AM at the 24/7 beckon call of four juveniles, but I am so much more
I'm their role model- I'm the mold that all women that come into their lives will have to fit. My boys will look for my nurturing nature (and hopefully, my sass, wit and smarts too!) in their future wives, who will in turn become mothers of their children. My girls will pattern their own mothering after mine. (Fix it Jesus! I kid, I kid!)

I was their first teacher! Oh, the days of potty training... How I thought they'd be in diapers until college! But, regardless I made it through and many of YOU have too! Those of you going through it now, IT GETS BETTER! THEY WILL GET IT! You're in my thoughts and prayers! I taught them how to spell their names- each other's names even! I have taught them to be philanthropic, empathetic, kind, caring, compassionate, and most of all... RESILIENT! I'm NOT raising no punks! If you get knocked down, you get back up and try again.
I am their ROCK! When the going gets tough, the tough get going. But, when the going gets tough in our house, the tough- Go find MOM. Mainly, because like almost every mother in the animal kingdom I am fiercely protective of my progeny. They know if they can't take it on alone, MOM can and WILL! No obstacle can prevent my success on behalf of my children. I will work until I can't anymore if it means better for them. No matter the outcome, as long as they know in the end that I loved them and ALWAYS did my best.
I may be tired, with under eye circles and bags from day to day- but, that's just how I like it. I wouldn't have it any other way!
