I am Back Like I Never Left!

Dear Moms, It has been a doozie!  Is it not always a damned doozie when I go MIA? I always have some cockamamie excuse, reason, or something! I have got to do better! Who's gonna help keep me accountable? Don't all raise your hands at once! But, for real, I need Accountability Mamas!  Those mamas that will call my ass out and be like, "Where's the blog, Broad?!" Yeah, I need a little aggression 😉 Either way, I am on TikTok: @Unmarried_But_Not_Unhappy and Instagram: @easypeasymommymeals. Get in my inbox and demand content! Alright, you don't have to DEMAND...  but a gentle reminder helps a lot! I have been dealing with a lot, and sometimes finding time to write (for enjoyment) is not a priority. Speaking of the things that I have been doing, I GRADUATED from the Los Angeles Film School with a bachelors degree in screenwriting for film and television. I received three Google Cybersecurity certificates, and I earned my Direct Care Worker certifications throug...

Ways To Treat Seasonal Allergies That Are Nothing to Sneeze At!

Dear Moms, hiya! It is true that I have been away for a minute AGAIN! okay, hear me out... SCHOOL omg, is kicking my butt...I am finding myself more and more swamped by the day! I never know when one 4 week mod ends and a new one begins if I am going to have one class or two and I never know what class/classes it will be next! (sidebar: I have been really lazy and I never really looked into how to see what classes I would be taking, so I just let them happen!) I know that they are leading me to my Associate's degree in Graphic Arts and I am super excited! I have been maintaining an A-B average in all of my courses, and some of them were on a rocky footing, in the beginning, to say the least! But, I did my best and buckled down and pulled those shaky grades right back to where they needed to be! I also had a rescue dog for a while, we dubbed her Roxxy, but she found her home again and all was well. ROXXY Then, I rescued a kitten! Lol, I spotted her from my kitchen window i...

I Haven't Forgotten About You!!

Dear Moms,  Okay- I know, I know...you have probably been expecting the other FOUR parts to the "Spring Five Parter." Buuuuut, as all of you know from being moms, LIFE HAPPENED! You guys may remember that I had recently enrolled in school to get my degree in Graphic Arts. OMG! This schedule has been grueling... I have been doing hours of reading and writing papers, discussions, and creating graphics displays and presentations.  On top of all of that, I am working in the beginning phases of a new business venture! Stay tuned for that... 😉Plus, the kids and the house and the dog... lol the list is a mile long and ten miles wide! So, with that being said the other four parts will be underway soon- but they have been updated for the Summer season! I have some fantastic cocktail and meal recipes for you- it's going to be Ah-MAZE-ing! I just had to pop in and let you all know that I have nor forgotten about you all- but,  I have to get some of this li...

Stay Warm, Stay Heathy, Stay Hydrated!

Image
Dear Moms, So, once again it's cold and flu season. The worst on record in over 30 years. With multiple children and adults having died due to this outbreak. Arctic temps have been plaguing the nation, along with the usual winter blues, energy slumps… Let's face it, this season brings along more issues than Vogue !! One of the best ways to tackle each and every one of these maladies is simply staying hydrated! I KNOW you’re never without your water bottle when it’s hot out; but (oddly enough) it’s every bit as important to keep up that good habit throughout the winter season. Here’s the dish: It helps fend off colds and flu. Staying hydrated boosts your body’s immune function, so sip the day away! H 2 O helps ya heal! If you’re already sniffling and coughing from a cold or even worse, the flu- drinking plenty of fluids can help break up that pesky congestion, actually help your body fight the bug and even aide in soothing your headaches. Water eases digestion...

OMG- We're EXPECTING!!   Dear Moms, I have recently been stricken with "BABY FEVER!" I have been inundated with all of these adorable little smooshy faces on my News Feed on Facebook, my twitter timeline, my Instagram feed, AND my Snapchat! Goodness gracious! So, I began to not only CRAVE another little ball of drool; but wonder HOW and WHEN you all knew that you were pregnant! I personally, experienced NOTHING in the way of symptoms of pregnancy. I just missed a menstrual cycle- took a test and BOOM! Well, with the first one. The second was much more interesting. I actually felt MOVEMENT before I realized I may have been expecting! I mean REALLY? Lol I was under the impression that you didn't ovulate while you are nursing...which by the way is a complete and total LIE! Anywhozit, I was nursing my first born and still actively having unprotected intercourse with my then SO. Well, one evening after a particularly amorous encounter I rolled over onto my stoma...

What's Up? What's Happening? Dear Moms,  Well, school is down to the last two weeks for us... Time to get the bubbles, bats and balls, and water balloons on deck in my house! Well, maybe not the water balloons yet- it's still only an average of like 55 degrees daily right now! LOL Moms in NW Indiana sit at BASEBALL games like this! I just had my 34th birthday two days ago, and I am ready to set this new year of my life on FIRE!This birthday was an eye opener on all the things I had let fall to the wayside in my life. ME! Being a mom can be rewarding, fulfilling, and even fun! But, let's face it: being a mom can also be draining. Financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of who WE are, and were as we fill our days with lunch packing, carpools and homework. Look Familiar to you? We as moms have to find out who we are, and who we want to be, because at some point, the kids will be adults and on their own...

Dear Moms, **Musings from my mind that May help you!** I'm a huge fan of homeownership. Owning a home can actually prove to be cheaper in the long run than renting in many parts of our country. I have been working to purchase a home for about two years now, and I finally feel ready!  However, owning a home is not for everyone. It's often a game of chance. A game in which you spin a wheel and hope for no whammies, ie bankruptcies, leins, floods! Oh yeah, you forgot about that, huh?! Here are MY biggest signs you may not be ready to buy your first house —just yet. You don't want to worry about maintenance, repairs, and other costs. Sacramento Home Repairs 916-472-0507 www.sacramentohandyman.com Retrieved: April 5, 2016 When you rent a home, the rent payment might go up over time, but this is the only "unpredictable" cost you have to worry about. When you own a home, you have to do your own maintenance, or pay somebody else to do it for you. You have...
