I am Back Like I Never Left!

Image
Dear Moms, It has been a doozie!  Is it not always a damned doozie when I go MIA? I always have some cockamamie excuse, reason, or something! I have got to do better! Who's gonna help keep me accountable? Don't all raise your hands at once! But, for real, I need Accountability Mamas!  Those mamas that will call my ass out and be like, "Where's the blog, Broad?!" Yeah, I need a little aggression 😉 Either way, I am on TikTok: @Unmarried_But_Not_Unhappy and Instagram: @easypeasymommymeals. Get in my inbox and demand content! Alright, you don't have to DEMAND...  but a gentle reminder helps a lot! I have been dealing with a lot, and sometimes finding time to write (for enjoyment) is not a priority. Speaking of the things that I have been doing, I GRADUATED from the Los Angeles Film School with a bachelors degree in screenwriting for film and television. I received three Google Cybersecurity certificates, and I earned my Direct Care Worker certifications throug...

Artwork! What to do With It?

Image
Dear Moms,  Do your kids looove to paint or draw? Do they scribble on any scrap of paper they can get their little hands on? Do you find doodles in the margins of books?! What do you do once you have amassed a ton of your little Picasso's "creations?" I had this conversation earlier today with a friend of mine on Facebook. She was speaking on how her son's artwork was beginning to kind of 'overrun' their home... you know- he loves to create and you, "don't want to discourage the creativity or stifle their freedom of expression- but the fridge is only so big and we're REALLY not trying to to incorporate the evolution of your artistry into the overall decor of the house" vibe? 🤷🏾‍♀️ So, I commented that I too had gone through this with my four. I used to keep all of their at home drawings, anything they made at school, and  daycare, church, church camp, the birthday party they went to two, five,72 weeks ago... it was becoming an unruly mess n...

Dear Moms, Howdy! It's a gloomy, rainy Monday here in Rockford...oh, and it's the FIRST DAY OF HALLOWEEN! (aka October) Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!! Halloween Heights Herald, D., Sydnee school reporter The history of halloween. 10/17/2017 Retrieved  https://whesjournalism.com/3581/uncategorized/the-history-of-halloween/ Anywho, I am getting ready to play our family's annual fall game of, "How Long Can We Freeze Before We Turn On The Heat" and gearing up for some spooktacular fun and decorating! I know some of you Mamas are celebrating your little one's first Halloween and I began to go through the laundry list of mommy worries about this holiday of scares and candy... Why marketers should stop worrying and start loving big data Retrieved  https://datafloq.com/read/marketers-stop-worrying-start-loving-big-data/33 1 Where should we trick or treat? How do I check their candy? Do people really put razor blades in apples? How m...

Dear Moms,  OMIGERD!! I have been swamped! Let me fill ya in: I am STILL in school full time, for my Graphic Arts Associates Degree.  I am getting the kids ready for a brand spanking new school year in an entirely new city AND state. I am getting my company: Essential Bath Elements off of the ground. I am working with the susband (soon to be husband) on both the ministry AND the cleaning company.  Oh- and did I forget to mention that I am MOVING?? AGAIN?!? Yeah, moving- once again. We have been in this house for a little under six months...but, the landlord was doing fraudulent things by renting it out during a foreclosure. Long story short, Fannie Mae purchased our home and then asked if we would like to continue renting, OR they offered us, "relocation assistance" to move. $$$$$ Cha-CHING! I was ready to pack while we were still on the phone with the broker! 👀 Am I alone?! Hands? Needless to say, I am scouting places for boxes and taking art...

Spring Sessions: Part One

Image
Dear Moms, Great morning to you all! Here's hoping that you all had a fabtabulous Mother's Day 2018- mine wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst. 🙈🙉🙊 My apologies for bot bringing you all a Mother's Day blog to get you ready for the celebration of your moms as well as yourselves; but I am in the midst of studying to get my Associate's Degree in Graphic Arts. My time is very limited as I study, work TWO jobs and get the family's home up to par. I'm working actively on some better tome management strategies to be able to better keep up with you all... No worries! I am so happy to be back with you and giving you the "Spring Download!" This post is going to be dedicated to Spring LOOKS! These looks are not fashion based, but how to bring a bit of spring into your home- with some really great affordable items, new looks at old food faves, and also some of the hottest colors of the season. It's so great how this season brings ...

What's the Deal with St. Patrick?!?

Dear Moms, Beware the Ides of March! Lol did I just give you a creepy azz high school literature flashback? Yes? You. Are. Truly. MY people!! No? Well, you are a much better adjusted human being than I. Because, every time I hear that sentence I think (in rapid succession, almost while hyperventilating): Shakespeare, Sophomore World Lit, DID I DO MY HOMEWORK?! 😱👀😲 Then, I snap out of it. Realize I have loooong since graduated high school, and my undergrad years. #WHEW Now that I have exposed yet another layer of my mental instability, let's get down to business! This week ushers in St. Patrick's Day! This is the date celebrating one of the patron saints of Ireland who ministered Christianity to the Emerald Isle in the fifth century, St. Patrick. Here's the download on St. Patrick. First, he wasn't even Irish. It's believed he was Scottish.  Even though the actual birth date and locale aren't certain, he was born around 375AD by way of Roman parents (liv...

Stay Warm, Stay Heathy, Stay Hydrated!

Image
Dear Moms, So, once again it's cold and flu season. The worst on record in over 30 years. With multiple children and adults having died due to this outbreak. Arctic temps have been plaguing the nation, along with the usual winter blues, energy slumps… Let's face it, this season brings along more issues than Vogue !! One of the best ways to tackle each and every one of these maladies is simply staying hydrated! I KNOW you’re never without your water bottle when it’s hot out; but (oddly enough) it’s every bit as important to keep up that good habit throughout the winter season. Here’s the dish: It helps fend off colds and flu. Staying hydrated boosts your body’s immune function, so sip the day away! H 2 O helps ya heal! If you’re already sniffling and coughing from a cold or even worse, the flu- drinking plenty of fluids can help break up that pesky congestion, actually help your body fight the bug and even aide in soothing your headaches. Water eases digestion...
