MOVING!!!

Dear Moms,

YES, I am back! I am blogging live and in living color from our new house!! YAAAAAAAYY! So, with that being said...can I just address with you all for a minute- THE ISSUES involved in moving??! Lol Omigosh... I sooooo underestimated all that was entailed in our relocation! First of all, I and my family were living in our old place for SEVEN YEARS! That means seven years worth of CRAP...toys, dishes, clothes, blankets, yada, yada, yada. I thought that it was going to be a pretty cut and dry task; pack up a few items in a box, seal the box, label the box. Boy was I ever wrong! First of all, pack a few items into a box? Hellz NO! I had to sort through the items that were actually to BE packed into said box...asking the questions of, "Do we actually use this anymore?" "Does this still fit me, that kid, or this kid?" "Do I REALLY have the wherewithal to haul this additional junk to our final destination?" and the ever so popular, "WHY do we even HAVE THIS THING?!" (Which can be interchanged with, "What the hell IS this thing anyway?")

Not only did I have to SORT this array of what was seemingly nothing more than disarray...I also had to separate these random items into categories, and rooms at the final locale. This was no easy feat! I was the ONLY one packing simply because I am so anal and my OCD had taken full effect and control of the situation- I did not anyone else's hands to affect my system of organization, or lack thereof because there were some days when even I was unsure of what the heck was going where and even if I had packed it in the first place!  Then, I had the interesting dilemma of actually FINDING and SECURING a place to go after we had moved out of our original abode! Yes, I was at one point, with the entire family (including two dogs) HOMELESS! Lol Well, due to the fact the people that were initially moving out of their home which would in turn allow US to move into it- decided to STAY at the LAST minute...we had NO place to go! So, now in the midst of the already frantic, fervent and chaotic packing, I had nowhere to lay my (our) heads!

"Oh, sweet merciful GOD- take me now!" was my basic mindset as this was all transpiring. I was beginning to feel like a complete and utter failure as an adult, mom, and provider for my family. However, in the eleventh hour we had a breakthrough and a real life miracle! I told my friend to turn onto a random street as we were approaching it and when we did, we happened upon the landlords themselves standing in front of a newly vacated house! We asked them if they had anything available, knowing that they owned and rented properties around town (thank goodness for small towns, huh?) and they said,"Well, yeah but it needs some work." This was music to MY ears! I am a DIY goddess and I LOVE to experiment and flex my "handy muscles" we went in and took a look around, and it was perfect! Three bedrooms, dining room, large kitchen with great built in cabinetry and PLENTY of counter space. They weren't lying on the place needing work (I spent 72 hours cleaning JUST the kitchen!) but in our near three weeks here, it is shaping up nicely into a home!

I have scrubbed the hardwood to an amazing degree of clean and I am almost ready to stain and finish them again, after a bit of spot putty and a few replacement boards, the walls are being mudded as I type this very first blog from the new base camp- and I am back online! I also got a new job offer as an assistant manager at a new gas station here in town! Things are coming up Jennifer, folks! Oh, I just got a notification from PayPal too- I even have available funds! #LifeIsREALGood That's all for now from the new domicile, but make sure you come back for more updates!

Until Next Time!
